One Award Scheme for 2021
The global pandemic has touched everyone, and having not run either the UK Bus Awards or the UK Coach Awards last year, the Management Committee agreed that we should bring both road passenger transport sectors into one award scheme this year. There will not be a glittering presentation ceremony, but we still want to recognise and reward some of the great work going on out there.
‘Fast and Easy’ entry
We know that entering our Awards schemes can be time consuming, and the judging process which follows is very thorough and can involve interviews and mystery travelling in some categories. This time we had a ‘fast and easy’ entry process with new categories that do not need mystery travelling or interviews, and which better reflect the unique situation caused by the pandemic last year and this.
Please note that entries for 2021 have now closed. Please click here for what happens next.
There were no entry forms. Instead we wanted you to write an e-mail of between 300 and 500 words describing your project, scheme, employee, company or organisation and why the entry should win. Make the subject line of your e-mail the category you want to enter and we’ll pick up your contact information from your e-mail signature. Attach a single picture of the person or something that best illustrates your project or scheme.
How to enter
- Write an e-mail of between 300 and 500 words describing the person/project/organisation and why he/she/it should win.
- Make the subject line the name of the category.
- Attach one picture of the person or something that illustrates your entry. Do not send any other attachments.
- Ensure that your e-mail signature includes your name, job title, company and telephone number.
- Send it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 5pm on Friday 27th August 2021.
You could enter as many times as you like. Entries can usually cover the period from April 2019 until the closing date. There will be no extensions beyond the closing date. You may be contacted for additional information to assist the judging process. If relevant to your entry, you can include links to a small number of videos or news stories on websites, but links to supporting documents or presentations will not be viewed. You will not be penalised for going slightly over the word count, but excessively long entries may be disqualified. We want to make this a ‘fast and easy’ entry process for all!
Categories
There are fewer categories this year, so if you have something that you think deserves recognition but that does not readily fall into one of the categories, send it to us anyway under the 'None of the Above' heading!

What happens next
Judging will take place in September and October. There will not be an online Finalists’ Announcement; instead the winners will be announced online on the date of what would have been the UK Bus Awards presentation ceremony - Tuesday 16th November. There will not be Bronze, Silver and Gold Winners, just a Winner. At the discretion of the judges, there may be ‘bus’ and ‘coach’ winners in some categories. They will also consider the size of the business and its resources when selecting winners.
